Suggestion/Speculation about Passives

I was thinking about how the passives will be like in D3 after the changes to the skill-trees and removal of passives from them and a thought suddenly struck me .. what if we can socket runes into passives as well .. and when we do that we get a variety of stat buffs (depending on rune type, rune level and the skill itself) .. heck ... with so many variables it will be a very deep system for customization .. and will balance nicely with using the use of runes for actives .. now you will really have to make a hard choice .. use the rune to buff your stats or to manipulate your active skills.

That could be the new talisman surprise (Talisman = Skill Runes + Passives = Awesomeness !!!) and actually my idea is not really about customizing the passives themselves directly.. it is that when you socket a rune into a passive it does not affect the passive itself directly (although sometimes it affects it indirectly with some runes) .. but rather give your character a different permanent or temp boosts in stats or character attributes (which differs depending on the Rune, the skill and the level of the rune and the skill too) ... what do you think guys.

Bad Temper

-Passive skill that helps gain and maintain Fury.

Now if you socket it with one of the runes

Crimson -->+x% more fury per kill

Indigo ----->Each kill makes fury last (x) sec/s more before depleting

Obsidian -->when fury is 50% or more attack speed is increased by x%

Golden --->+(x) STR,+(x)% hit Recovery

Alabaster -->+(x) HP,+(x)% Health Globe Bonus

What If/Speculation/Suggestion... they say it all ... i know they aren't officially socketable .... hence why i used the terms above .. i thought that's pretty obvious XD
