One thing that must be changed!

This has probably been discussed before, but I want to reiterate.

The health bars / name tags / whatever above each monsters head need to be hidden by default (or taken out completely).

If you want to know something about a mob, after mousing over them, you should see the old d2 style name / health/ info bar in the upper portion of the screen.

No exceptions... I don't want a bunch of stupid bars cluttering up my screen and breaking immersion.

Thanks.|||I agree to an extent. The bars really hid the action in the gameplay video, but they might be convenient for keeping your character alive without having to shoot your eyes all over the place. I plan on playing with a big monitor.|||See above.

I know this comment isn't going to start off well for some in the community, and for that I apologize, but...

My experience from WoW is that having important information, such as your target's health, at the top of the screen is more distracting from immersion than having it near them. If it's at the top, then to look at that, you need to take your eyes off of the action anyways, thus losing out on more of what's happening than just covering a small portion of the action with a bar. Now, a button to quick-hide/show that bar while playing would be nice for just what you're saying, though.|||if the monsters die as fast as they do in d2 then it WOULD be a visual impairment on the game cause the bars would just pop up and hog the attention from the visuals and gory explosions.

mmo monsters tend to take longer to kill anyways, i liked the top of the screen look in d2. u dont really need to stare at the bar do u? i mean it doesnt show much... just a red bar that goes down a little. now if it showed a text number for the monster's hp...|||Why is there another topic about this? From some Blizzcon videos I've seen D2-style bars on the top of the screen. Before that they had those evil bars above a monster when you scroll over. It will probably change dozens of times before release.

Do you really think Blizzard is going to make that big of an annoyance in the final product? And they won't have a single option to customize HUD?

The lack of common sense is astounding.|||I like the bars on top of the target I'm targeting. D2 style won't probably work with large screens and resolutions, you would have to move your vision like 30cm up which will cause you to totally lose control of the action.

If you want immersion, go LARP.
