Ghosts should not count towards the character limit.

[:1]I can't find anything about this in any of the articles, so i figured i'd bring it up.

I love to play hardcore, and I don't mind the 10 character limit so long as it's for living characters. My halls of the glorious dead probably already numbered over 10 before I killed Diablo in nightmare mode for the first time. I know they held over 20 fallen heroes (including 2 killed by Diablo himself!) before I finally killed him in Hell mode. I like keeping my dead characters around as a sort of record of the effort it took to finally make it.

Even though I've never had more than 2 or 3 characters at a time I was playing, it would be a shame if i couldn't keep my Ghosts around to haunt my battlenet account and inspire future generations. has there been any official word on this?|||And you know what? I am not that close minded. I would like to have unlimited characters |||I like the idea of maybe having some way to show your dead characters with the banner you get, maybe it should have this ghostly fog around the bottom of the banner and if you wave your mouse over it you can see all the characters you'v lost on HC, it would fit well with the HC skulls and bones at the bottom of the banner as well and it could even be optional wether its there or not.|||I think your method is not a good idea.|||Quote:

Maybe a little graveyard in the character selection background with tombstones you can hover over, or perhaps a mausoleum behind the character selection screen where you can click to see your ghosts. I don't see any problem with saving some basic information/last image of HC character client side as long as it's not a real character that could be hacked in some way. Blizzard could do that without compromising their 10-character limit.|||Quote:

I agree with a graveyard. I had a post on the battle.net forums about this exact same thing.|||Unlimited caracters= not a good idea...

A graveyard *evil grin*|||I want a graveyard as well! /signed

No set stats on any gear.

[:1]I would love to see D3 come out with a more Uo style of item generation. All items can spawn with random stuff on them, comes down to luck of the draw. This way each character will have extremely unique gear and therefore make the playing style extremely unique based on the gear. Uo was by far one of the best games when it came to PvP and it would be nice to see D3 have some decent PvP and not just everyone runnign around in the same gear, the same builds, and pressing the same buttons.|||Well... I can't see why not

I mean it's not like random stats on random gear has been a trademark for the diablo series the last 10 years|||I think he meant even legendaries.|||If legendaries and sets...no thanks. At the very least, we should get quest reward items of some kind. Uniques in D2 were set, but often highly randomized in its own right--usually a mod that doesn't appear in the mainstream magic/rare line up.

They also fell into a niche. Things like wizardspike was great for casters, but imagine if a BA rolled with similar stats + cruel of quickness :O|||I'd prefer a wider range of acceptable gear rather than such a range of randomized stats

that way everybody can still shoot for certain items that they desire but no outfit is superior to the rest|||Actually...now that I've sat down and thought about it I wouldn't mind seeing legendaries with random stats. Yes, it would be strange. I don't want ALL legendaries with random stats. There should be caster legendaries, melee legendaries, hybrid (or random) legendaries, etc.

Basically a hybrid, would be a legendary that could have Vit, Dex, Wp or Str. (Let's just assume 7 mods)

So we could roll a:

All resist

+Willpower

+Vit

+Spell Damage

+xxx

+xxx

+xxx

or

+Strength

+Vit

+Dex

+All Resist

+Attack

+Attack per second

Basically, I'm saying things like specific jewelry. NOT ALL LEGENDARIES. It would add some more item hunting into the mix (:|||I definitely think it's an interesting idea. Especially with Legendarys. Not too sure about sets though. I mean, it would have to depend on the circumstance of the found item I think. I.e. Did you find the Legendary when you opened a chest, or off a boss. If either scenario can be a possibility I would think the Legendary that was found off a boss might have a stat or two better than if the same item was found in a chest. Or something :P|||I`d like to see the Sword of Haste and Grandfather from Diablo 1 make a return.|||I would absolutely like to see Windforce from Diablo 1 make a return.|||hmm then whats the point to have a unique? just the name + look?

Diablo 3 MMO

[:1]I know this may have already been discussed... But I really want a D3 MMO after this game. God it would be so awesome, but not sure I am willing to spend the money.... What does everyone think about a MMO for this game... You think it could do it. If not explain, curious what others think. I don't think i can go another 10 years before a major release of this title. |||I'm fine with a D3 mmo (after release of the real D3 of course), as long as it's not gonna be D4|||Hmmm I don't know.. I'm really kind of burned out on MMOs in general, though of course that's a personal opinion. In a more general sense I don't know if I want the IP to go there. If you think in terms of WoW, what does it really have to do with the original Warcraft RTS anymore? It's taken on a life of it's own and by now it almost feels like it's just an MMO where they stole all of the lore from Warcraft and pasted it into the game.

But it's more than that... WoW has BECOME Warcraft. When people think of Warcraft, they think of WoW. What happened to the RTS? Is it gone for good, supplanted by this MMO?

I just don't feel like I want to be playing a barb in an MMO, trying to get guildies together for a "Baal Raid" and feeling like they stole everything away from Diablo to make an MMO. And if they did make a Diablo MMO, would the Diablo ARPG franchise go the way of the Warcraft RTS? Fade into oblivion?|||HuH

and here i though a COARPG that is online only would be mmo enough for all of you|||Quote:

I think it's a troll thread lone_wolf.|||probably still baffles me|||i dont know about this... Diablo is... diablo, make it into an MMO, not sure its diablo anymore|||Diablo got its look and feel from the darkness, music and storyline. I don't see how they could possibly turn that all into an MMO and keep the look and feel of the Diablo Universe. If they decide on doing this, then they need to not include it into the Diablo Franchise and name it something completely different.|||Don't think they would ever do two MMOs. They would be competing with their own products.|||Quote:

People say this all the time about blizzard releases. And you can't really compete against yourself since if you have em here or have em there you still have em.

Plus Blizzard's next MMO is code named Titan and is supposedly a fully new IP. I wouldn't be surprised if blizzard kills off the diablo series with D3 and the following expacs.
