[:1]What are the key issues that you felt let you down or weren't up to scratch in d1, d2? Show me a list of you grandest hate and pet hates. Shall I begin?
1. useless gold
2. going to town to id crap
3. scrolls
4. useless skills (prerequists that are just there to be skill point hogs).
5. useless gold
6. useless gold
7. hacks and ease of banning
8. the extreme jump from easy to get items to impossible to get stuff.
9. lack of storage space
10. useless gold
11. teleporting
12. hammerdin like characters that are just wrong
13. getting dropped for no reason
14. click, click, click, click, click, click
15. monsters that don't show damage done to them. Just a bar.
16. gameplay destroying pvp
17. and useless gold, did I mention that one |||1. Decent items being too hard to come by. (Note: DECENT, not godly. Why does everyone immediately think we want it raining high runes or an equivalent whenever somebody suggests better drops? Annoys me to no end)
2. Useless modifiers. Not just the "+1 light radius" stuff that nobody bothers with, but also stats that are far too low to be useful. Exactly how often does somebody get saved by having an extra 2 hp?
3. If they include horadric cube style crafting, upgrading and such, make it more practical/less annoying to obtain ingredients. In a normal playthrough, how many of these things do you really have on-hand?
4. Massive difficulty jump like D2's Nightmare -> Hell. I don't mind difficulty, but I hate how you can go from destroying the best of hell's minions to being slaughtered by a foul crow or such. Just make it more gradual.
5. "Endgame only" items that have level 80+ requirements. Things that you'll really only be able to use once you've already beaten the game. Not one of the biggest problems, more of just a pet peeve.
6. "x% chance you'll be completely screwed over." Basically, variables that really screw up your day if you get the wrong things. On items, stuff like "210-350% ED" or "1-3 sockets" on a very rare unique. On monsters, things like the dreaded Extra Strong/Extra Fast/Fanaticism frenzytaur pack.
7. Like your 4, I also hate the redundant/point-sink skills.|||I don't see the problem with clickfest and why people hate it. It's a mouse game; there's got to be clicking. The only major way they can fix that is by making AoE attacks that do way too much damage so you kill the whole screen in 1 click.
I think I agree with most of the rest though.
Here are some more:
stamina
increased maximum stamina
faster stamina recovery or w/e it is, slower stamina drain, w/e
stamina potions
remedy potions (then you just get poisoned again anyway)
thawing potions (then you just get chilled again anyway)
throwing potions
potions
Only 2 scrolls and 2 tombs in the game: "Oh look. A bookcase. I wonder what may drop from that. Well, let's see, there's id or tp--both of which I can get in town for dirt cheap."
Suicide bombers and more suicide bombers:
Fire enchanted
Cold enchanted
Those suicide minions
Dolls
Automatic-damage-no-matter-what-making-your-toon-a-damage-sponge-and-nothing-else: Diablos ring of fire, holy shock on bosses, etc.
Arachs, making all other belts obsolete for some classes.
Soj and bk, making all other rings obsolete for some classes.
Too many minions on the screen; designers gaurantee lag problems.
Players jumping into games for 1 second and leaving due to their ADHD.
Very poor radius on fireball/exploding arrow.
bo
auras
paladins
Snow white assassins kicking 500 pound demons and sneaking around in full plate armor.
cheese
Act 1 normal red imps who die every time a lev 1 sorc punches them with her arms of a girl. In other words, monsters with 1 hp.
eth titans
Zombies whose heads fall off 100% of the time even if they are poisoned to death.
Bugs who drop polearms
Jugs who drop polearms
Giant weapon racks who drop throwing knives.
Sparkling chests that drop many piles of useless stuff you can get in town.
Standing in fire with no worries.
Jumping like Super Mario Bros (I guess this one stays for d3).
Lev 2 set items that you complete at lev 45.
Rush me 4 forge.
Ground that instantly heals itself after vines or w/e dig through it (I guess this one stays for d3)
Cloth boots with more def than full plate armor, and other such monstrosities.
Useless quest rewards.
Blizzard does not condone xfering.
There are staves/wands in town that cost more than the max gold you can hold.
Running in the desert in full plate without consequence.
Monsters can be invincible at cetain times (when fetish shamen die, the second one is immortal for some time, those cliff killer things, etc.)
Next delay|||Durability system
Stamina system
Identifying system
Other annoying systems that don't contribute, and are annoying
Stat point system too by the way. Made my own thread for that.
And they have to make the game more flexible! The friend list, the way to find/join games, the way to make contact, the interface between players. It's all horrible! I'm not a fan of wow, but my friends play wow, and it's much better there. I mean, there's even a mechanic making a player who hasn't pressed a button for a certain amount of time hold up a sign saying "afk". So practical!
I mean, if a game in diablo is full, all you can do is rejoin (by pasting a text and hitting enter) over and over again until you can join. no, you're not allowed to know the name of the players there so you can contanct them. No, you can't find any information about the game.
The whole interaction systems on bnet, everything needs to be renewed. The way it is now, it's horrible.
Also, a much better trading system. The one now sucks *****. Being able to search etc.
The gameplay in d2 is good, but the game is so unpractical|||1. people that complain about what made diablo 2 the best selling pc game of all time
2. number 1|||Oh, so everyone who is trying to make something change to the better is a whiner? I guess the northern states who wanted to abolish slavery where whiners in your eyes too|||Getting rid of teleport would be dumb both practically (people not playing because of it) and well just dumb. Teleport isnt what ruins diablo, hacking is.
If they fixed hacking, pretty much all problems woud go away. Better mid range drops...actually those exist but you cant trade for them because they are charsied do to bots.|||Seriously, I really don't get a lot of your complaints.
1. Gold- Gold isn't useless considering the durability/merc system. It can take a lot of gold to be ressurecting your merc or repairing your weapon (i think they should make it harder to find gold...)
2. Identifying- You don't need to go to town to id crap. It's called a scroll of identify.
3. Scrolls- It's called a tome. You put a scroll in it.
4. Clicking- ... it's a clicking game... what else are you supposed to use.... that's like commenting a console game by saying "press button press button press button press button press button..." (and don't you dare say joystick)
5. Monster hp bars- I don't really feel like a bunch of numbers lagging up my game thanks. I'm content to just know whether I'm capable of killing something or not and how long it might take.
6. This or that is too strong (ok excluding the jump from NM to Hell)!!! ... sorry you can't pwn norm to hell with ur lvl 1 sorc?
Things I agree with or don't want to see:
-The jump from NM to Hell difficulty (I would like to be able to not die every 5 secs and get to the end of the game without uber gear or a rush)
-Never thought about it, but gotta agree with the jugs dropping polearms thing XD
-Warden...

Quote:
Running in the desert in full plate without consequence.
Not sure if it does affect you or not (I know shields do) but if it doesn't, then yea
-Exp areas (why the heck does tristram give more exp than hell baaling if you are lvl 1?)
-Blizzard should support xfering
-Agree with the "you either get crap items or godly items" thing
-Useless quest rewards|||Yes, I know there are scrolls of identify
But WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY? Why need to identify items? Why can't you just get to know what it is instead wasting time.
What does it bring? Why need to use scrolls? Why?|||1. Rushing and Runs
