"Champion" and "Unique" monsters

[:1]I just thought of this today. You know how in D2 there are Unique and Champion monsters that carry around special auras and buffs (and better than average loot)? Well, in Diablo 3, if you manage to kill one, why not allow the killer to carry around a temporary version of the buff? It would promote killing monsters rather than just skipping them which most people tend to do nowadays. I don't know, I thought it was a cool idea to maybe throw out there, see if anyone thinks its an alright idea.

::edited for clarity::|||I don't fully understand. Carry a version of the champion you just killed?|||He means like, if you kill a monster with Stone Skin, you temporarily gain stone skin.

If you kill a monster with Might Aura, you temporarily gain Might.

Hopefully I'm not wrong.|||You are 100% correct. Although I'm sure monsters will have multiple buffs, I guess it would only seem fair to limit the temporary buff you'd gain to one. As having all of the monster's temporary buffs would get ridiculous.|||Im sorry but id have to say no to this idea, I think it would overpower the character some unless they lowered the amount of champion monsters (especially in hell), And id prefer if there was more of them making killing intresting. (champion monsters have a higher chance to drop uniques so should really be worth it).

I think the main reason people skip to bosses is because its so easy to do just that, would probably be a better idea to just make it harder to farm bosses or slower, making the "baalrun-001" very unconvienient. (sorry spelling, drunk.)|||It would need to be a rare thing that happens perhaps on level with the shrines (or rarer still if its effecting a whole party) or have a short duration as it would upset the balance of skills.|||Make it happen every time but limit duration. Use of that would be to kill the champion first and then be stronger to get rid of all his/her minions

Also I don't see a problem with it being "overpowered" or not. If you run into a pack of mobs where one of them is a champion you can either kill off the little ones while the champion is alive since little ones die quicker (easy way) OR you can kill the champion that takes some more hits and then be stronger to kill the little ones quicker.

It makes a lot of sense though to be stronger after killing a champion, similar things happen in real life, if you complete something that was challenging you feel like you can do anything
